GAME NOTES
The Alarm blares, but then stops when Gimbal examines the door. Maddgoth's Castle is lit without light sources, and the bars on the windows are crystal.
Jitters opens a door, and a tiny copper coin falls to the floor. Arin finds where had been wedged into the door as a makeshift alarm. The room is stuffed to the gills with junk & broken furniture. Detect_Magic reveals nothing.
To the SE, another door, this one with an electrum piece. There is magic beyond, its a room full of chests including a Portal
What appears once in an hour, twice in a blue moon & never in sunshine?

- 09 o'clock Wrecked furnishings, 12' dragon bat looking for a drawing. Shows a psuedodragon, he wants us to kill it.
Ceol finds a study whose walls are embedded full of trophies: wands, rods, staves, & orbs. There is an empty iron trunk & a desk made of lacquered spellbooks. A magic mirror with the dragon bat monster's face hangs on the wall, but does not respond to Jitters messing with it.
THEORY - the monster is Maddgoth and wants us to kill a pseudodragon to free him from the transformation
We find a bathroom, which Ceol promptly loots
The central courtyard has its corners filled with crystal pebble trees & a 9' statue of a plump human wizard with "Maddgoth" on it's plinth. It is magic and faces SW. Ceol's history check shows him to be a wizard of renown
MIDDLE FLOOR
We head up to the 2nd story. First room 4 overstuffed chairs and a 12' tall octobass. Portraits of wizards line the halls.
We find a cloak room with mind flayer costume, Ceol takes it.

THEORY - Maddgoth's Castle is linked to Dweomercore University. This is some kind of faculty / admin center
We find a series of bedrooms, then finally at the 6 o'clock position a control room that has an iron console with a slanted top. It has 3 brass levers & 5 gold buttons, all labeled.
- Leftmost Lever. The inscription under this lever reads "COURTYARD"
- Middle Lever. The inscription under this lever reads "LIGHT."
- Rightmost Lever. The inscription under this lever reads "HEAT."
- Button 1. The inscription next to this button reads "MUSIC."
- Button 2. The inscription next to this button reads "ROOF."
- Button 3. The inscription under this button reads "FOG."
- Button 4. The inscription next to this button reads "LOCKDOWN."
- Button 5. The inscription next to this button reads "DO NOT PRESS!"
COURTYARD & HEAT levers are in the up position, LIGHT is in the down position.
We lower the COURTYARD lever, and hear some clicks. Raising the LIGHT lever turned off the lights.
In the SW room we find another Portal. It depicts a hand clutching a lit torch, so Ceol lights a torch and it activates leading to the 11th Level
To the west, above the monster's study we hear snoring through the door. Gimbal sneaks in and sees a fat human sleeping on a bed. There is also a very fine Dragonchess set in this room.
The NW bedroom has a portait of Halaster Blackcloak staring at a rather large ship-in-a-bottle. We take the ship.
The NE room has been fireballed and contains a corpse
The center north room has a man named "Zartim" trapped in the octobass. He is hungry, so Ceol passes him food and water. He claims Maddgoth trapped him there weeks ago and begs to be freed. We pass, promising to come back leather.
TOP FLOOR
We find an alchemical lab full of notes & supplies
Another room full of burnt wizard bits
The 6 o'clock room has a giant throne of iron and a gaping mouth rug. As we gawp, the castle shudders to life and "Someone has come home"
