GAME NOTES
Ceol enacts "OperationBox Turtle" and the goblins join in. After sticking the Bugbear Chieftain in a chest and piling construction lumber on it, Ceol lights it on fire. The Chieftain dies when the Polymorph ends and the goblins immediately begin bickering over who will be the new boss of the market.
Jitters raises Rex_the_Hammer and 5 bugbears as zombies in a horrorshow of a ritual. The goblins avoid us thereafter while we take a SHORT REST.
We march south with our horde of shamblers and attack the undead beholder using the zombies as meatshields. Nadia_the_Unbent joins the fight, beating on zombie Rex. A gang of Bugbears and then one of Thugs join the melee.
Arin casts a Fog Cloud obscuring the scene and blunting the eye attacks. Nadia is grappled by Jitters Bigby's Clenched Fist but escapes. Ceol finishes the Zombie Beholder. Mira casts Spike Growth into the fog and the Bugbears tear themselves to shreds crossing it. Meanwhile Arin casts Shatter under the Thugs ripping them up, and a frustrated Jitters finishes the gang off with a Fireball. The last survivor, Thug 9, surrenders.
In the barracks beyond, Gimbal finds a secret door. Beyond that door we find a PORTAL with a Rust Monster motif.
Gimbal finds a 2nd secret door leading to a disused armory full of rusty armor and weapons. Ceol takes some rusty metal to the portal, and it opens. Struck with a sudden attack of Intelligence, he realizes it leads to the 7th Level. 6th Level (retconned 250320 by Mark vis SMS)
We briefly examine the ballistae corridor with Thug 9, but skip it for now to examine the southern door. It leads to a long chamber with the world's longest rug under a ceiling of glowing crystals. At the end of this long chamber is a set of dwarven double-doors. Opening it, we see a skeleton of a dragon. The party opts to delay further investigation and opts for a smaller, southern corridor/door.
Beyond the door is a large chamber with 4 columns depicting stoic female elves with nature motifs. There is also a cubic automaton/construct flying around the room.
Jitters sends a zombie in to touch a column, but nothing happens. When he sends the zombie after the construct it gets petrified when it passes between all 4 columns.
We find some previously petrified beings in a side room and call it a night
