We take a SHORT REST
RP WITH Rex_the_Hammer
- Lost his companions, Midna_Tauberth & Copper_Stormforge, trying to exit to L3 where they met the undead beholder. (sounds like maybe he ran)
- Attacked by nothics & mezzoloth while resting
- Total bro-meathead
- Ceol uses Know Your Enemy on Rex; _fighter level = 9, current HP > 78.
Since Rex is a meathead, Ceol points him at the disenchanters but they are gone. While that is going on, Gimbal tries to break into Rizzeryl's chambers but finds the door magically locked. Ceol disarms the frost room sigil, and Gimbal uses his Wand_of_Secrets but finds nothing.
To the north, we find a veritable horde of giant spiders. Rex_the_Hammer makes a frontal assault, and we all follow him into combat. It takes a while, but we finish them off. Beyond, we find the spider lair full of goblin and nothic corpses and minor treasure.
To the south, we find a bedchamber with another spider corpse and an armoire. Rex yanks a ring out of the armoire which also has a corpse of a humanoid in it. Ceol confiscates the ring and gives it to Gimbal. Arin gives Rex a golden mask in compensation.
We return to the Yawning Portal Inn, deliver Rizzeryl to safety and tell Lady Yafeera about the Xanathar Thieves Guild on the 2nd Level.
She compensates us for the rescue, and we offer to Take 2nd Level if she can come up with a reward and healing supplies. She agrees.
