GAME NOTES
We enter level 2, and try an unexplored room with a barred door. A animatronic Halaster is mixing things at a table. He yells a lot about our eyes being turned to cinders, but otherwise seems to be a harmless automaton . Jitters casts Detect Magic but there is none. Beyond that we find a room with bugbear &Intellect Devourer corpses
Exiting the room, we hear a faint harpsichord. We explore some hallways and find an enchanted harpsichord made of bones playing a tune. The notes of "The Drains of Waterdeep" are written in faded letters on the wall. We noodle the tune and the piano opens. In a compartment is a Scroll_of_Raise_the_Dead.
We find the Goblin Market much changed with Yek dangling from a gallows and Xanathar Thieves Guild guards in charge. Copper_Stormforge, a shield dwarf, is the only other customer in the market. At first he seems like he might be an ally, then he spits on Yek's body and walks away.
We re-discover the screamy-face room with the melted gold lump on altar. The limestone altar has an inscription written in infernal: A gift of flesh willingly given can feed our eternal hunger.
Ceol drips a bit of blood on the "gold" and it turns out to be a jelly-monster. Turns out to be an altar to Jubilex. We defeat the ochre jelly and Ceol takes a piss on the altar before we leave.
The next room holds a gelatinous cube. Jitters immediately casts Vitriolic Sphere on it and retreats into a 2nd one. We dispatch both quickly.
The next room is full of putrid salt water and floods us when Ceol opens the door. A body floods out. We also find a Arcane Focus, Glass.
Exploring more, we find hallways one of which has portraits of wizards, including a particularly vivid one of a tome turning a wizard into a gibbering mouther.
Beyond is a large room with a dining table & Midna_Tauberth, a cleric of Shar and apprentice to Halaster_Blackcloak who is also wearing a symbol of Waukeen. She seeps captiviated by "the power" she has witnessed here. It felt culty.
We go the long way around to Rizzeryl's place, -he's in a bad way with Xanathar ascendant. He wants to run back to Waterdeep and starts following us around. Rizzeryl is no longer haughty, he's a punk.
North of his chambers we find a plain stone throne, and then revisit the half-wall of bones.
Following the sounds of battle we enter a room with 2 Nothics and a little Mezzoloth fighting a human warrior (Rex_the_Hammer). We join the fighting, and help put the monsters down.
