Some offline discussion of improving our deal with Rizzeryl and also shopping at the Goblin Market near the entrance of 2nd Level

GAME NOTES

Gimbal has his voice back and engages Rizzeryl in negotiation around the deal to kill his enemies. Rizzeryl remains obstinately vague, so we decline (for now) the offer and retrace our steps to the Goblin Market.

Right off the bat, Ceol sees the Drow Assassin and has to be dissuaded from attacking him straightaway. Gimbal moves closer to him to eavesdrop while Mira, Arin & Jitters peruse the market.

the Drow Assassin leaves with his flame priest companion through a door to the south. We quickly form up to follow but it takes us quite a while to catch up.

Disquised as a goblin shopkeeper, Gimbal gets their attention and then gut-stabs the Drow. Ceol and the rest leap from cover to attack, but the Drow is hard to hit and he manages to stab Ceol with a poisoned blade which wounds him grievously.

Arin casts hold person on the Drow, which allows us to surround him for a prison-style killing including Mira as a saber toothed tiger. He dies fairly quickly while helpless and we turn to the priest of Kossuth.

Jitters disables the priest with hypnotic pattern of dancing red skeletons. We surround the beguiled priest and destroy him quickly, recovering a Ring of Fire Resistance

From the south, a zombie beholder comes floating up the hall spouting warnings from the Xanathar Thieves Guild. It does not play, and disintegrates part of Ceol's arm. We flee and the beholder goes back to patrolling to the south.

Jitters invisibly retrieves Ceol's Spear of Lightning and we head back to the bazaar. Ceol offers the copper crown w/ garnets to a goblin shopkeeper for info on the entrance to 3rd Level. The shopkeeper indicates the way is guarded by the zombie beholder, troops from the Xanathar Thieves Guild and also guarded by a Drow_Fortress.

We shop and buy a Grease potion, and sell some weapons, then a weird looking dude and bugbears enter from the east. We gather his name is Yek, and he wears very tight pants. He goes around the market and taxes the goblin merchants.
